To the 1,000+ members of the Sapna family, this isn’t just any number. On 26th January 2024, we celebrated 57 extraordinary years of Sapna!
In 1967, Mr Suresh Shah, the founder of Sapna-Group, came to Bangalore from Mumbai and set up a 10 X 10 sq feet of a bookshop, the humble beginning of Sapna.
This dream-like journey began in 1967 when Mr. Suresh Shah, our visionary & founder, travelled from Mumbai to Bangalore with a dream in his heart and a 10 x 10 ft. bookshop in his hands, when Sapna took its first steps through humble beginnings.
Fast forward 57 years, and Sapna has grown far beyond its roots in retail. We’ve blossomed into a multifaceted enterprise, spanning Publishing, Pan-India Distribution, Ecommerce, Technology, University Supplies, and B2B Services. For countless families in Southern India, our 23+ Sapna Book Malls aren’t just stores—they’re a fun and cherished part of life’s journey. From walking in with their parents in search of school books to now strolling hand-in-hand with their own children, we have become a beautiful tradition for different generations. It’s the magic of knowledge that keeps this cycle alive!
Today, Sapna isn’t just about books—we also offer 20+ non-book categories in retail with our eCommerce platform delivering products across India. We also have a dedicated publishing event which has published over 6000+ book titles so far.
